The nose of this terrific Cabernet Merlot blend (Cabernet clone SA125 & Merlot clone D3V14 70:30) displays enticing berry fruit with nuances of cassis and some earthy tones. The smooth, clean palate has long mouth-filling flavours.
This wine is great for every day drinking it has enough character for the lover of wine to enjoy though will not be too over powering for someone who is just starting. This is a great food wine. Partner it with the lamb dish of your choice or a char-grilled steak. This wine may be cellared for 4 to 6 years The nose of this wine is terrific.
Cargo Road Vineyard Established 1983 at 860 metres on the sheltered northern slopes of Mount Canobolas near Orange NSW. The vineyard is planted on deep red basalt soils allowing it to be unirrigated. Cargo Road Wines are all estate grown. We have believed in sustainability since 1983 and took this further with the introduction of Holistic Management in 2013 taking a regenerative approach to Viticulture and Agriculture, as we only custodians of the land.
